Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at HappiLabs

DEI Committee at HappiLabs 2023

HappiLabs is aiming to be a leader in the Life Sciences Industry by providing opportunities to all people and increasing momentum to diversify the scientific supply chain. We created a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee to help guide HappiLabs’ business decisions as we grow and serve more scientists.

We are a volunteer committee of 7 individuals who agreed to meet once per month in 2023. Our goal for these meetings is to determine what DEI means at HappiLabs—a small, techie service business—and set goals for 2024 and beyond. After our first 3 meetings we set simple goals for 2023 to generate momentum:

  1. Talk about DEI.

  2. Measure and be transparent about our diversity metrics

  3. Celebrate the diversity calendar every month

  4. Maintain the Show n Tell segment of our bi-weekly, all-hands meetings

  5. Review company feedback surveys to ensure all voices are heard

To accomplish #2, the DEI committee created a survey. This was easily generated with Google Forms. The survey was provided to all employees as optional and anonymous. 22 (out of 24) people filled it out and the results are below.
